Hudson's Bangkok Pics

Recently Hudson and I went out to do some prayer-walking around Bangkok and to take some pictures of the city...from a 9 year old perspective.  We had some good guy time and got to build some relationships with people in the area.  Here are some of the pics Hudson took.

 Taking a break!

Monkeying Around in Satun

Monkeying around in Satun

This month we have off of language school, so we decided to go down to Satun to visit with our team for a week.  We've been having a great time.  We've visited students at a couple different schools, helped out at a juvenile detention center, and were able to meet some really kind people all around this area.  We also got to see monkeys....some good and some bad.  The good monkeys are found in this area but it is rare to catch a glimpse of them.  Fortunately, we saw quite a few crossing the road...see if you can spot them playing around in this video.

When visiting a park in town we came across many monkeys (not so nice ones) and strangely enough, some wandering goats.  While taking a walk we came to one area where 15-20 monkeys were hanging out.  I guess they think they own that area.  They weren't to happy to see us crossing by...at least without giving them any food.  When they started walking towards Hudson and Katy we thought it'd be a good idea to get on back to the car...after taking a few pics.

We took a trip a few hours outside of Bangkok to visit the location where so many World War II soldiers lost their lives while being forced to build the Thai-Burma railway.  The Bridge over the River Kwae.  So thankful for those who endured so much for our freedom.

We went out recently to help teach English and visit with some friends we've made at a hospital in Bangkok.  One of of the girls here is a friend from the Northeast where we had lived before.  Right outside of the hospital is Victory Monument which is where some people have been coming to protest.  There weren't any protestors there at this time, but there were plenty of soldiers there just in case.  Keep praying for Thailand and for the Thai people's hearts to be opened to the Gospel.  Here are a few pics from this past Thursday.

"Unity" Youth Camp with Immanuel Baptist Church

This past week, I had the privilege to spend time with the youth group from Immanuel Baptist Church (of Bangkok) at their youth retreat.  We went to a military camp where they went through "boot camp".  They had to learn to work as a team.  The focus of the 3-day camp was "Unity" in the body of Christ. During our Bible sessions, we talked about the importance for a believer to be unified with God first and then unified with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  God is definitely at work in the lives of these youth.  This experience definitely made miss the youth from Mt Elam back in NC.

Flat Stanley Comes to Thailand

Thanks to Mrs. Petty's class at Benson Elementary School, Flat Stanley has had the opportunity to travel all the way around the world to visit us in Thailand. Here are a few pics that we've taken so far.
